Vinh Nghiem Pagoda (Chua Vinh Nghiem). In Duc La village (Lang Giang district, ancient Bac Giang). Built under Ly Thai To’s reign (1010 - 1028), becoming a center of the dhyanist sect (Thien) of Truc Lam. King Tran Nhan Tong joined the religion here (1293), and became the first Patriarch of the sect. Friars Phap Loa and Huyen Quang, his successors, also stayed here. In Ho Chi Minh City, there is also another Vinh Nghiem Pagoda (339, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia avenue), which, though a recent struclure. carries traditional features. It is equipped with a tower 40m high, 7 roofs with 9 decorative patterns (wheels and clouds) on the top.
