On 25th April every year is a day that Australian and New Zealander celebrate the courage and sacrifice of all service personnel, particularly the service of the men of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps who landed on the bloody beaches of Anzac Cove at dawn on 25 April 1915 at a place with a strange name that is now part of the Australian language; Gallipoli. It is usual to have a Dawn Service and a march of former service men and women. Many New Zealanders and Australians as well as Vietnamese go to Long Tan & Nui Dat to participate the ceremony.

Full Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)
Welcome upon arrival in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), we will transfer to a hotel in the central city then relax for the rest of the day. In the evening, we enjoy welcome dinner on the Saigon river cruise. Overnight in Saigon.
Day 2: Cu Chi Tunnel & Saigon After Dark by Vespa (B, L)
Enjoying breakfast at the hotel then we travel to Cu Chi Tunnel where we will have a half-day to discover the historic land of South Vietnam. It takes us more than 1 hour to drive along with the villages, countryside, rubber plantations. We will see a quick video about Cu Chi's heroic people and land before we experience how to move under the tunnels. We also discover the history of the place through many models of soldiers, kitchens, meeting rooms, family rooms… To be a real solder, we can try to shoot the real bullets that cost US$1/bullet; or we relax and taste some special food and back to Saigon for our lunch.
Relax in the afternoon and our Vespa tour will be started at 6h00pm and last 4 hours. We will ride pillion behind the Vespa driver and experience the nightlife of Saigon the way locals do. We also adventured into our favorite local eating spots during the trip and taste many kinds of delicious food. The happy ending of the tour is a lively bar where we enjoy drinks with live music. Overnight in Saigon.
Day 3: Ho Chi Minh – Mekong Rustic (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we travel to Cai Be town where we will have a stop to visit Cao Dai Temple and Cai Be Cathedral. We continue our boat head to Tan Phong Island where our Mekong Rustic is located. Delicious lunch is served upon arrival with friendly local staff. We take a short rest then take part in the local activity of ditch fishing hook which brings us a rustic and great experience. Our product fish will be for dinner tonight as well.
Late afternoon, we are back to Mekong Rustic, enjoy the quiet, peaceful, fresh air and relax; join dinner cook with chefs and have dinner.

Day 4: Mekong Rustic – Ho Chi Minh city (B)
Breakfast at Mekong Rustic then we explore more of Tan Phong island by bike. We will visit the traditional handicraft workshops of handbags, rice papers along with wooden tables and chairs. Stopping at a local farmer’s house and talking to him to understand how local farmers take care of their gardens, then try plucking the fruits and tasting them. We also stop at the bang conical hat (nón bàng) workshop. Later, we take a short rest and check out. The small boat will transfer us back to the tourist boat Cai Be for driving back to Ho Chi Minh City. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.
Day 5: Ho Chi Minh city tour – Vung Tau (B)
After breakfast, we visit all the highlights of Saigon such as the Reunification Palace, War Remnant Museum, Cathedral, and Post Office then head to Vung Tau for our next early morning 50th Anniversary Commemorative Service. Overnight in Vung Tau.
Day 6: Vung Tau (Anzac Day) – Mui Ne Beach (B)
4h00am: We check out and depart to Ba Ria where our local tour guide will welcome us and take us to Long Tan to join the Dawn Service ceremony.
05h15 – 06h15am: Dawn service ceremony.
After that, we visit the former Nui Dat Task Force Base followed by a visit to the Long Phuoc Tunnels and the Nui Dat Kindergarten which was opened in October 2010. This Kindergarten was funded by the Australian Vietnam Volunteers Resource Group and now stands on the site where over 5000 Australian soldiers were based at any one time during the Vietnam War.
After that, we head to Mui Ne for our beach holiday in the next two coming days. Arriving in Mui Ne, we check-in and relax. Overnight in Mui Ne.
