Pho pagoda

Pho pagoda is located in Le Loi ward, Hung Yen town. Along Hien pagoda, it is a major historical monument in the town. Its architectural pattern is "several roofs covering a sectioned foundation" (trung thiem diep oc). Like other Buddhist pagodas, it has a three-entrance gate, a bell tower, an antechamber for worshipping the Buddha, a chamber for worshipping Ten Kings of Hell.

Outstanding is the Dien stupa the architecture of which follows the pattern of a Five-storey Pavilion and Eight-roof Shrine. Local sources assert that Pho pagoda was built during the Nguyen dynasty (19th century). But a scroll with big Chinese characters in the pagoda indicates that it was built in 1625
