The Grotto of Cac Co
Poet: Ho Xuan Huong
Heaven and earth gave birth to this rock,
A crevice black and deep divides it in two...
Heaven and earth gave birth to this rock,
A crevice black and deep divides it in two.
Moss covers its edges and the opening gapes wide.
Wind-rocked pines tap out the beat.
Fresh water splashes in beads, drop by drop
And the path to enter is lost in dark.
Praised be the sculptor who shaped it with talent,
Many a person covets this wide-open cave.
These two delicate India ink drawings also represent in faint watermark the woman's sexual organs. Here is another poem.
