Tran Quy Cap (1870-1908). A patriotic scholar and poet, born into a poor farming family in Bat Nhi (Đien Ban District, Quang Nam).
He passed the civil service examination in 1904 and became a mandarin of education, then joined the 1908 tax revolt in Central Việt Nam. He was condemned to death as an anti-colonial militant. His poems appeal to patriotism and attack the corrupted mandarinate.
