Vien Chieu (990-1091) was an eminent Buddhist monk, a native of Hoang Dam District (present-day Thanh Tri District, Hanoi) and nephew of the Queen of King Ly Thai Tong.

Vien Chieu led an ascetic life at Tieu Son Pagoda, where he was a disciple of Dinh Huong. He left gathas and many Buddhist writings, including the Dược Sư thập nhị nguyện văn (Twelve Sermons of Dược Sư).
