Full Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi – Pom Coong Village – Xo Village (B, L, D)
In the morning we depart Hanoi for Hoa Binh, then Mai Chau valley. After about 3,5 hours we will be in Mai Chau. After having lunch in a white Thai family in Pom Coong village, we depart for Sam Khoe village, where we start trekking for 8 km to Xo village. We will stay in one of their traditional stilt houses. There, we will be toasted as honored guests and will be able to sample some of their homemade rice wine! In sampling these people's hospitality, we will discover a little more about their lives and culture following the evening meal. Tonight's accommodation will probably be a little more rustic than your usual accommodations at home. Overnight in the house on stilts in Xo village (Easy trekking 2 to 2.5 hours).
Day 2: Xo Village – Pom Coong village – Hanoi (B, L)
Following breakfast we begin about 3 hours trek in this beautiful valley, going from one village to another and have a chance to get in touch with local villagers going about their daily business, tilling the fields, logging or herding the buffalo. The driver will meet you at Na Meo village for transfer back to Pom Coong village for lunch. Afterward, we can stroll around the hamlets, before returning back to Hanoi. We will be in Hanoi around 17:00. Trip ends.
