FULL ITINERARY
You are welcome by Viet Vision Travel’s tour guide & driver. Your driver will pick you up at the port in Halong and bring you 15 kilometers outside of the city to the Dong Ngac Cultural Village. Visit a morning market to learn about local culture and pick up some presents for the families you'll be seeing later. Take a welcome drink at the home of the hosts before getting ready for the upcoming biking tour. Visit the communal house, where the earth is shaped like a dragon, as you travel farther into the village. It was originally owned by the Do family and is the oldest house in the area at more than 300 years old.
Return to the host to take part in a cooking session and eat the food you helped prepare. Before visiting the Hoa Lo Prison Museum, where the former US presidential contender John McCain spent more than 5 years in prison, stop at the Temple of Literature, which was initially constructed as a Temple of Confucius. Today, wrap up your tour with a one-hour bicycle tour of the French-inspired "Old Quarter" and a quick shopping trip, then head back to Halong International Cruise Port in time for your cruise's departure.
